Of all of the areas of the law, I see very few that would be as boring as becoming a tax attorney. In general, the law can be a fairly tedious subject that requires a lot of attention to detail and past cases. Additionally, tax is a relatively dry topic by itself that is focused largely on minute details. So the combination of these two subjects in becoming a tax attorney seems to be less exciting than watching grass grow. That being said, I am sure that there are people that are interesting in becoming a tax attorney, and simply have different interests than I do. As long as there is a demand for a tax attorney, there will undoubtedly be someone to fill that need.
As boring as I may think it would be to be a tax attorney, they do provide a valuable service to society. As can be seen with the giant scandals that have shocked the business world, the need for a tax attorney is evident. I think most people do not realize how common tax fraud is, and therefore do not realize the need for a tax attorney. I can imagine that since this could be an issue for large companies with deep pockets, that a successful tax attorney probably can make a lot of money in this field. However, in order to be truly successfully as a tax attorney, I think that one must have enough passion and motivation to succeed because they love their job and what they are doing everyday, not simply because of the financial rewards.
